The year is slowly coming to an end and what a phenomenal year it has been for Sexy Sloth Record’s almighty star’s SANDVEISS.
November 21st, M for MTL brought SANDVEISS to a packed house at Les Foufounes Electriques and opened for Ontarian prog-core band Protest the Hero. Standing out from the rest of the lineup, media still were impressed by this band according to reviews made by Bucketlist Music Reviews and Musik Universe.
The new DELUXE VERSION of Scream Queen is out!! This digital copy includes an extra track, “Unspoken Speech” which can be downloaded via iTunes.
While SANDVEISS have been very busy on the road, a new video for
“Do You Really Know” has been released as well, which was filmed while they played with Megadeth over the summer at Festival D’ete de Quebec:
On another note, we have also recently signed Les Indiens who will be releasing a new record in the spring of 2016! Les Indiens are a Stoner-Rock band from Quebec City and have been going strong for quite some time. We are excited to have them be part of the team.
We have a lot more news coming your way for the new year.
What has been happening with Sexy Sloth lately? We have been quiet, but a lot of exciting things have happened. Read below.
Sandveiss has been nominated for “Best Heavy Album of the Year” for Scream Queen at Quebec’s GAMIQ 2015. Since 2006, the GAMIQ Ceremonies highlight the talent of Québec by awarding prizes to musicians who have developped a strong reputation for themselves among those heavily involved in the music industry. The awards take place during a musical event held in late autumn, featuring the best talent to come out of Québec. It is a must for anyone involved in the music scene.
In other news, Sandveiss is opening for Prog Metal Canadian band Protest the Hero in Montreal on November 21st for M for Montreal. The show is held by Extensive Enterprise, and Mandroid Echostar will also be performing. For more details of the event, click here.
A little about M for Montreal: Founded in 2006 by Sébastien Nasra (Avalanche Productions), in collaboration with the legendary British festival programmer Martin Elbourne (Glastonbury Festival, The Great Escape and co-founder along with Peter Gabriel of the WOMAD festival), M for Montreal is much more than an annual event. “M” is an independent organization whose ambitious mission is to help up-and-coming artists both to become better known locally and to launch their careers outside Canada. For the last nine years, M for Montreal has carved out an enviable reputation at the heart of Montréal’s cultural life, and now occupies an undeniable role as a catalyst for the local industry, both for emerging local artists and those who are developing their careers outside Québec.
Friday, November 27th, Sandveiss will be performing with Sons of Otis at the Bovine Sex Club in Toronto. Tickets are only 10$ and it should be a great time. For more details of the event click here.
Over the summer, Sandveiss has performed with huge names such as Megadeth for Festival D’Ete, performed at Canada’s heaviest festival, Heavy Montreal, and their first single for “Untie Me” has been played on rotation on popular Quebec Radio such as Montreal’s CHOM 97.7 FM, and Quebec’s ROCK 100.9 FM.
We had a great summer. What else is in store for us? Stay tuned! Big things coming your way.
